Does the information on this page apply to Coinbase's self-custody app?

The information on this page only applies to Coinbase.com accounts; it does not apply to Coinbase’s self-custody app, Coinbase Wallet. Self-custody wallets like Coinbase Wallet are different from hosted digital wallets on coinbase.com. We maintain the private keys to the hosted digital wallet assigned to you on coinbase.com.

Do I need a coinbase account to use Coinbase wallet?

Note that Coinbase Wallet is not the same product as Coinbase.com, and you do not need a Coinbase.com account to use Coinbase Wallet. If you’re looking to simply invest in crypto, Coinbase.com remains the easiest place to buy, sell, and manage your crypto.

Does Coinbase wallet support XLM & XRP?

As of January 2023, Coinbase Wallet will no longer be supporting the following assets and networks due to low usage: BCH, ETC, XLM and XRP. For more information, visit Supported assets and networks. Coinbase Wallet is a self-custody wallet that gives you complete control of your crypto.
